Colourfast realizes the importance of giving back to the community. In keeping with its deep tradition of community support, Colourfast will keep busy this summer by demonstrating its belief in SickKids Hospital as well as Villa Charities, causes that Colourfast has been intimately involved with for years.

Summer 2011 it seems to be all about the motorcycle. With two years of experience in organizing The Ride for SickKids, Colourfast has committed to a second motorcycle fundraising event, The Rally for Vita.

The Ride for SickKids is being held August 21, 2011 and will begin at Mackie Harley Davidson in Oshawa at 8:00 AM sharp. This will mark the 3rd year of this event. Going into this highlight SickKids campaign, we are well over $80,000.00 in funds raised. It is our intention to have 400+ motorcycle enthusiasts join us on this year’s ride throughout the back roads of Durham region. We hope to raise an additional $65,000.00 on the one day alone. For more details on how you can be a part of this outstanding event, please visit our website www.rideforsickkids.com.

On September 25, 2011, Kahuna Powersports will help us present the first annual Rally for Vita, in support of Vita Services, a branch of the Villa Charities that assists individuals with mental disabilities. This will mark the first ever motorcycle campaign put on for and by Vita. For further details on this prestigious event, follow www.rallyforvita.com. This featured event will begin at 8:00 sharp on the Sunday, the 25th at Kahuna Powersports on Steeles Ave. West and will end at Mercedes Benz Barrie.

Colourfast’s financial support to these causes, combined with the active participation in organizing these events demonstrates its role in giving back to our community. We believe it is imperative to take pride in our workmanship, we also believe it is vitally important to take pride in our community. Giving back helps define our company, and who we are.

In order to keep one step ahead of the competition and to continue to build a reputation for leading edge finishing and capabilities, we aggressively strive to develop new and unique products.

Our latest series of finishes include tinted clears. For several specialty high-end clothing retailers south of the border, Colourfast has been chosen to develop and apply these “dark smoke”, “antique brass”, and “stained clear coats” over various substrates including natural steel, steel treated with various acids to enhance a distressed look, and polished metals.

The latter of the attempts has provided clients an alternative to the environmentally harmful plated versions of the same finishes. It is our expectation to continue to develop this new line of finishes to include bronze, copper, and gold finishes.

Discover some of these works in our “Latest projects” portion of our site.

Enjoy,

JM

This is an excerpt taken from a recent interview from Canadian Manufacturer, a Roger’s Publication featuring Joseph Manzoli, President of Colourfast:

“I am optimistic about 2011 and beyond. Manufacturing is clearly not the same as it was years ago. We have had to make many changes in the way we approach our business, our clients, our suppliers, our employees, and our technology. We have been forced by international competitors and by market conditions to become better at what we do, to be faster, cheaper, leaner, more diverse, and more able to react to customer needs and requirements.

We have seen tremendous growth in the last year, in big part because of our ability to engage in a production processing environment that allows us to take advantage of last minute and super-rush orders. We are now stocking more variety of colours and finishes in our inventory, offering more services, and catering to a bigger audience, never losing focus on quality.

Moving forward, I believe we can compete more aggressively with our Asian competitors. We’ve already seen pricing increases from China and India. In fact, we not only look at the Far East as a competitor, I look at China as an emerging market. I believe it can become our biggest client as their taste for capitalism and quality products becomes more attractive to the one billion plus population. I am optimistic. Yes.”
